5 Things to Watch on Netflix This Autumn
'Tis the season for Netflix and Chill. Its cheap, its cozy and there is so much to choose from. But if you are like me and take longer looking for something to watch than you do actually watching it, here are some of the shows that I have been loving or that I have just started and already hooked on.
I have heard people talking about Poldark for a while now and always thought how handsome the main character was but never got round to watching it until I saw it on Netflix and I couldn't resist. I fell in love with the story and Demelza the young girl and couldn't stop watching. It is set in the 18th century and follows Ross Poldark from when he returns from the war and needs to try and rebuild his wealth but unlike other wealthy members of his family, he sympathizes with the poorer people.
Again, this is a period drama, set in the 1500s this time and I am addicted. This isn't as realistic as the above but is still so engaging. It follows Mary Queen of Scots to France ready to wed the future King of France. This is more for the young adult audience so has a bit more drama and naughtiness to it. But it is enthralling and there are so many twists and turns. Also, there are so many episodes so perfect for a binge.
Another show perfect for a Netflix Marathon; Suits is about a law firm who employs someone who isn't who he seems. There is a lot of drama in the courtroom but also in the office and the character Lewis Litt is brilliant and cracks me up all the time. Plus Prince Harry's new girlfriend Meghan Markle stars as the gorgeous Rachel Zane in this show.
4. Confession Tapes
I haven't finished this series yet and to be honest I wasn't that interested in watching it but my boyfriend convinced me to give it a go (and then fell asleep 10 minutes in!) and I was hooked. These types of shows always haunt me because I find it so hard to believe what the police will do to sentence someone. This is a True Crime Documentary following various stories where people believe that police have made people confess to crimes they did not commit.
If you watched the film Limitless with Bradley Cooper, this is a spin-off in a series form which Bradley Cooper actually Co-Produced and even stars in some of the episodes. It is about a man who as well as getting tied into the drug NZT (which causes him to be able to access 100% of his brains capacity, for a limited period of time) is also helping out the FBI. However taking NZT comes at a cost and the person who is helping him with this has some requests of his own. This is quite a silly series but with some darker twists and I love the main character, Brian Finch, who I think we can all relate to in our own way.
