5 Things To Do To Overhaul Your Life

So, New Beginnings. I have had so many but I am determined for this to be my last one. I am overhauling my life and if you want some motivation to get your ass in gear then you are in the right place. I want to build a community of girls that can build each other up and help each other reach our goals and turn our lives around and be more positive, inspired and fulfilled. 

However we need to set out a way in which we can achieve this and stick to it. Please keep reading if you need that push to get you started. 

1. Write it down

Get a note book and list what it is you want to change. I wrote down why I wanted to change it, how I was going to change and what I wanted the outcome to be, rather than just writing 1. Be Health 2. Get Rich, I can put some intention into it by giving myself reasons and actual ways to achieve them. I found the process of actually writing down my goals so useful as it was just building up more and more motivation as I wrote each word. I started really visualising what my life could look like. 

The 4 things I was looking to change were:

  1. Health & Fitness
  2. Mental Health
  3. Productivity 
  4. Money/Career

2. Be Accountable

Make a plan that you can go back to, or make action steps that you can cross off once you reach. It will be so rewarding to cross off each milestone and when you can see that the next milestone is not far away you will feel so much more motivated to keep going and making those small steps each day. 

It also helps if you tell someone about your goals, this means you can be accountable to them. You won't want to tell this person that you have given up and they won't want to hear your excuses so this can help motivate you to keep going and moving on ahead. They might even want to join the journey with you!

3. Vision Board

I have noticed that I love visuals, all of my favourite social media platforms have been image/video sharing sites e.g. Instagram, YouTube, Tumblr. This means that I love pretty things, I love to see beautiful photos and imagery. If you are the same then I think you would benefit from making a Vision Board. This can either be a cut and stick board or even one on your computer but you will want it somewhere you can see if everyday. You can even set it as your background! Compile a set of pictures of what it is you are looking to achieve, what you want your life to look like, how you want to feel.

There are the obvious pictures of a beautiful house or a slim body etc. But also include colours that evoke the feeling inside you that you want to feel about your life, or the quotes that inspire you, maybe even a pattern or background that you think is just so beautiful to make you want to keep revisiting this board. It is proven that making Vision Boards can help so get started! 

4. Don't try and do it all at once

If you have a list of 5 things to change and you want to try and tackle them all at the same time you are likely to become overwhelmed and just give up all together. Look at the easier or most important things first and start working on those. I have started to eat healthier and work out first because I feel this is important for me and as I get more into a routine with this and it becomes more like a second nature I can then move onto furthering my career.

 You will also find that it will cause a chain reaction with everything else and before you know it, you are balancing all of these goals without thinking about it. If you start eating healthy then this may cause you to be more productive because you feel more focussed after treating your body well, this productivity may then help you earn more money and it goes on and on. 

5. Actually Do It! 

In the words of Nike, "Just Do It". This may sound cliche but this really goes with absolutely everything in life. You can research thousands of different ways to lose weight, earn more money, be more organised etc. But you won't see any results until you actually action it. Read up on it and then go out and apply it to your life. Don't wait till Monday to start, do it now. Just sit down and begin  your list and just take at least a small step towards your goal. There is no need for you to wait, there is no need for you to put it off. You just have to go ahead and dive in. 

Motivation is the hardest thing and no one can teach you how to be motivated, you have to do that yourself. So just think f*ck  it, I am going to get up and go and reach out for what I want in my life and not worry what gets in my way. So just keep going.
